*Not to be confused with:
OK! I am (almost) at a loss for words - - - we have just arrived in Venice after a spectacle of 3 days. I'm bypassing telling anything about Pisa at all, because other than it being on the way to Cinque Terre, oh, and that leaning tower, there's not much to elaborate on....
Traveling to Paradise:
However, Cinque Terre was AH-MAZ-ING (channeling Rachel Zoe)!!!! We had the absolute time of our lives. The hike was (again ALMOST) indescribably (but of course I WILL attempt to describe) beautiful. It was a challenge - miles and miles of ups and ups and ups (stairs, rocks, hills etc.) and then a few paths that were straight followed by steep down down downs. My legs (calf muscles I didn't know existed ) are talking to me today, but it was so worth it, and our family needed to MOVE! Very very fun indeed.
We arrived and quickly checked into our quaint hotel, La Spiaggia, which means "the beach" in Italian. We were greeted by the owner, Andrea Pozzi, and his adorable daughter, Maria. They offered us a glass of wine (from Andrea's winery) immediately, and it was not the greatest wine, but it was welcomed after a travel day for sure.
We then hit the beach and were in relaxation mode instantaneously.
La Spiaggia:
And the view as we were driving our hotel:
Then it was - to the beach, to the beach, to the beach, beach, beach!!!
We sampled local fare (pesto, seafood) at dinner, and we turned in fairly early getting ready for the big hike the next morning.
The view is idyllic and postcard beautiful. We've all sworn we'll return to Cinque Terre...
