No mo Duomo...Day 8 means exercise!

We decided we HAD to get out of the city area today on foot and get some exercise, so we headed up to the highest point across the Arno to get a magnificent view of the city of Florence (away from the tourists) and enjoy.

The Duomo, being the center of Florence, is the busiest area, and during the peak hours (10-2), there are tour groups coming through in droves. Definitely a good idea to stay away during those times. We hiked all over for about an hour, then found a cafe and enjoyed the view along with waters and fruit and caprese on foccacia. And one of us woke up on the wrong side of the bed and slipped in the rankings for a bit - again, didn't last long, but the ranking in peril.

We separated from the guys (who ended up finding a perch above the city to have a beverage and relax a bit) and went to the Ferragamo shoe museum. It was very fun for us (can't believe it wasn't on Doug and Ross' top 10 list?).

It's now 5:00PM in Firenze, and Kriss is at the airport headed to London, and Doug and Ross are on the rooftop terrace of our hotel having a cigar.

We've yet to decide our last meal in Florence, but it'll be something local and simple before we pack up again and head by train to CINQUE TERRE!
